Mall of Fame Nigeria and TLC Harmony, London, UK in association with Transcorp Hilton Hotels unveiled the plan for the up coming RESET SUMMIT Nigeria/UK.
Invited members of the fourth estate of the realm and other critical stakeholders during the media briefing were let into a well thought-out plans underway to rejig tourism, travel and hospitality industry with particular focus on Nigeria, Africa and globally.
In her remarks, Nicki Page, Founder of TLC Harmony passionately highlighted great potentials and untapped opportunities in the creative industry that needed to be fully harnessed in order to further create employment spaces for the teeming populace and increase Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
She said that Africa, particularly Nigeria has both the potential and opportunity to lead the creative industry, further stating that failure to harness those potentials would amount to an economic disadvantage to the country, she described Nigeria as a huge destination point and a lead in creative industry which necessitated the country’s selection as a destination hub, to connect and reset the creative industry globally!
Page quoted “We think that Africa with Nigeria has the potential to lead the creative industry because if we don’t, we are going to face a critical crisis that we are already in”.
On his part, the Convener/Founder of Mall Of Fame Nigeria; Joseph Olugbenga Komolafe stated that the reason for the gathering was to further introduce the highly anticipated Annual Global Assembly of Sustainable Tourism Stakeholders in the quest for “Sustainable and Regenerative Tourism For Hospitality, Hotels and Climate Change advancement: a high level, multi-stakeholder event.
He added that this year’s Summit will explore best practices towards achieving Collective Growth in the Global Tourism renaissance for RESET Sustainability, that it will also showcase innovations, investment opportunities through Sustainable Tourism destination development, measuring for Planet impact, Blockchain and Women’s Tourism Power. Participants will therefore, have ample opportunity to interact with global leaders, senior policymakers for collective growth”.
He further stated that: the recommendation will be constituted by Governing institutions, corporate executives, investors, African Leaders in diaspora and Civil Society leaders across the globe.
Starting from November 3rd. 2023 at the Hilton Park Lane, London UK and Nigeria:January 24th. 2024 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotels, FCT, Abuja, various key stakeholders, investors, tourism and hospitality enthusiasts will meet to explore and deliberate on prospects, challenges with a view to proffering solutions towards enhancing collective growth in the global tourism and hospitality renaissance.
Also while endorsing the initiative, Taleb Rifai, former United Nations World Tourism Organisation stated that the initiative was in tune with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Glasgow Declaration on Climate Change for Tourism.
Various speakers in their separate remarks expressed enthusiasms and optimism that the Summit will help to reshape the creative industry for greater and better impact which will in turn attract foreign direct investment (FDI).
Some of the guests who attended the media briefing were Oba Olasunkanmi, Head of Secretariat: Afro-Caribean Chamber of Culture and Tourism ACCAT, Catalim Matios, Honourable Zaran Bashir amongst others.
